BIOGRAPHY
Anna Thomas is a London based visual artist. Her work dissects the uneasy relationship between the camera and the captured. Working across traditional film photography and contemporary mixed-media installations, Anna exposes the psychological tension that emerges when lense meets subject. Her work questions the assumed neutrality of observation; what it means to see, and to be seen.
Upon her migration to London and entrance into Central Saint Martins, Anna aligned herself with an enigmatic collective of artists, assuming the role of art director. Her artistic trajectory evolved in 2023 with an exploration of performance art, staging her first piece examining the fluid interplay between masculine and feminine energies. By March 2024, she presented a street photography exhibition at the Bomb Factory Foundation in Marylebone, further pursuing her fascination with performative elements to interrogate collective societal morality.
During the Autumn of 2023, Anna shifted her focus onto street photography, complementing the immediacy of her performance art with candid performances in the streets.
